We are a workplace designed to prevent accidents and injury.

We also protect the health, safety and welfare of our employees and the community.

At Acacia, safety is our top priority, which must be adhered to by all employees as a strict condition of employment. All levels of management support our overall effort to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. Acacia OH&S systems and policies complies to the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.

We are fully committed to constantly reinforcing best practice safety standards. This involves our staff attending regular OH&S meetings, adhering to Acacia’s internal system for reporting safety incidents and providing daily input on any possible safety risks.

Machinery and Equipment
Thoughtful and Considered purchasing of highly specialised machinery and equipment built on 15 years of expertise in the environmental industry ensure safe, quality and reliability of services in challenging environments.
Storage and Handling of Toxic and Dangerous Goods
Some our works require the use of chemicals, hot water and machinery. Acacia strictly complies to various codes and regulations to ensure the safe storage and handling of any dangerous goods.
Hazardous Substances
Where possible, Acacia provides services without the use of hazardous substance. We also endeavour to substitute hazardous substances with less hazardous alternatives. All hazardous substances are stored appropriately and in accordance with government regulations. Management regularly consults with our employees to maintain and improve safety and handling practices.
First Aid and Injury
Certain work environments have greater risks of injury and illness due to the nature of work being carried out and the nature of the hazards at the workplace. Acacia strictly adheres to the approved code of practice under section 274 of the Work Health and Safety Act. We provide adequate first aid facilities, as well as training to representatives. Senior management frequently consults employees and 3rd part contractors in relation to their health and safety when using equipment, substances and working on site. We are continually improving our systems and practices to ensure risks to our workers and the public are eliminated or minimised.
Noise
Acacia ensures the reduction and exposure to excessive noise through safety practices including but not limited to: Hearing protection such as ear plugs or ear muffs; Rotation of staff and employees to they can spend time working in quiet areas too; Changing or modifying equipment; Regular monitoring of noise levels
